Steve Taylor Many people have been confused about a new Steve Taylor album titled "Who Pays the Piper". Although this IS and album by Steve Taylor, it is NOT an album by the same Taylor. It is a different Steve Taylor although the albums are listed together in UBL and other places. There hasn't been any word on the next real Steve Taylor release, but trust me, the minute I hear any news I WILL post it. Sixpence None the Richer The
"Kiss Me" single has officially gone gold!! Chevelle Chevelle, the new band signed by Squint has finished their album with Steve Albini (Nirvana (In Utero), Bush, Page/Plant) as producer. Click here to read the press release with a few words from Steve Taylor. Sixpence None the Richer Sixpence continues to move up on the charts! It is currently #7 on the Hot 100 Singles chart. SNTR's album is currently #126! It's highest spot ever. Steve Taylor There were several mentions of Steve Taylor in the current edition of CCM (distributed early Feb.). In the (Rock?) news section there's a paragraph on how we SHOULD expect the new Steve album before the end of the year (that's what we heard last year) following the release of "Saint Gimp". Although old news, it's kind of the first time it's been mentioned officially anywhere Waterdeep CCM has a blurb about Squint signing a band called Waterdeep. They are a band out of Kansas and already have a pretty good following in the midwest. Their music is said to range from alternative to worship. Sixpence None the Richer Squint's very own Sixpence None the Richer, made their national television debut on NBC's Conan O'Brian show. They played their hit single "Kiss Me" at the end. If there is to be a rerun (do they do re-run's?) I'll be sure to post the date here. With the success of the movie "She's all That" Sixpence's sales have been climbing. They were back on the Hot 100 singles chart at #91 on Feb. 9(?). There's a new "Kiss Me" single that should be out in stores by now. It's being distributed by Columbia Records. Go to your nearest cd store and pick up a copy. It includes a new band pic on the front and the song "Love". (nothing really fancy, but it's only $3.99 in most stores) Sixpence None the Richer "She's All That" the movie featuring Sixpence's hit single "Kiss Me" is out in theatres!! It debuted number one, breaking some small movie records. Chagall Guevara Finally!!

Burlap to Cashmere Well, I got Burlap to Cashmere's Anybody Out There CD for Christmas, and to be honest, I was skeptical when I went to listen to it. I put the CD in, and was just blown away. This CD is great. I have 2 40 second mp3's for you, they can be found here. If you don't have this album yet though, BUY IT! Sixpence None the Richer Well, for those of you who didn't know, Sixpence None the Richer's video Kiss Me (directed by of course Steve Taylor) can be found on vidnetusa.com. It's been there a while, I just never thought of mentioning it. To view it you have to download the vidnetusa plugin. But it's definitely worth it, for you can see many other videos. Squint Entertainment was offering a Free Limited Edition Sixpence CD. I think it has an interview and some other things on it. To recieve the cd you had to buy the Self titled CD as a gift and send in the recipt. I don't know if this offer is still valid seeing how it's after Christmas. Steve Taylor Well...first time in a while we've had Steve News. In the November edition of Christian Single, there was a biography on Steve. I typed it up the other day and you can find it here. 2 New Steve Taylor songs. About one-two months ago, a man said he went by the Soylent Tunes office in Nashville and basically stole 2 tapes with Steve on them. He had them in mp3 format (I'm not going to put them on here because of the fact they were stolen), but I HAVE transcribed the lyrics of the SUPPOSED Steve songs. They can be found in the discography under Other Songs. Burlap to Cashmere Burlap to Cashmere released their new album "Anybody Out There" recently on A&M Records and Squint Entertainment. I haven't had a chance to pick this one up, but from what I've heard, it's great album. Various Sixpence News Sixpence None the Richer was featured in a CNN article. It can be found here: http://tinpan.fortunecity.com/drake/617/articles/CNN_6pence.htm There is a new Sixpence Yahoo Club (for lack of knowing official name). I'm a member of it and it's pretty cool. Udates have been kinda few lately, I encourage you to check it out. It can be found here: http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/sixpencenonethericher Sixpence ended their tour with John Taylor (formerly of Duran Duran) just recently. It is my understanding though, that they are still on the road touring by themselves, at various places. Steve Taylor Mailing List The Steve Taylor Mailing List web page has moved! The page can now be found here: http://www.gweep.bc.ca/~edmonds/music/SteveTaylor/mailing-list.html Sixpence releasing 2 albums this fall. The first artists signed to Squint Entertainment Sixpence None the Richer, will be releasing 2 albums this fall, independent from Squint. The 2 albums are to be "A 6-Pack of Sixpence" and "On Steel Horses We Ride". 6-Pack will be an album of covers from favorite songs, chosen by the band, and Steel Horses will feature covers of their favorite country songs. Both albums will be sold independently, primarily from their website http://www.sixpence-ntr.com . Sixpence is still signed to Squint Entertainment, but got permission to release these two projects independently. The Insyderz It has been confirmed. The Insyderz have officially left Squint Entertainment to sign with another record label (the name escapes me at the moment). No reason for the move was given. QRSTUV Updated! The QRSTUV has been majorly upgraded...The old text version is being updated to HTML complete with pictures, links, and colors! The QRSTUV is one of the best places to get any information about Steve you could ever want. Steve Taylor Message Board A Steve
Taylor Message board has been started by Giovanni
Audiori. Please go there and give any news, or
information on Steve Taylor. The address is http://www.insidetheweb.com/messageboard/mbs.cgi/mb82518. Burlap to Cashmere This is the latest group to sign with Squint Entertainment. They "blew away" the GMA audience at a performance and got a standing ovation during their first song!! There is no doubt that their next album will be great. The Insyderz Well...I've heard that The Insyderz have left Squint Entertainment, but this is still unconfirmed. I hope this isn't true. Looking at this months CCM it lists their album at number 22 on the CCM charts. Squint's Upcoming Video As most of you have probably heard by now, Steve Taylor has written the script for what is to be the first Squint Entertainment film. Reportedly the film will be released to several independent movie theatres throughout the country. We have been told to expect sort of a serious/drama type film. Something very different from Steve's previous work with the Newsboys. The title for the film is "Saint Gimp". With a name like that there's no telling what we're in for.
The Sock Heaven web site is now complete. Two years after "Stevelet" (Steve Schumacher) gave it to Mr. Davis, it has gone through many changes and is now "complete". It has also slightly moved. The new address to it is http://shell.wspice.com/~tdavis/taylor/. The discography on the site has been re-done to a much better format (makes mine look pathetic :-) ). You can look for songs alphabetically (by title) or you can look for songs the old fashioned way, by selecting an album then the song you want. A big HURRAH!! goes out to Mr. Troy Davis and his wonderful work on Sock Heaven. Squint Entertainment Steve Taylor's record label Squint Entertainment is now official. Click here to see the Official CCM News Release. The new Squint Entertainment web site address is http://www.squinterland.com. |
